[Review] Glamabox November 2013

November Glamabox came products meant for achieving healthy and flawless skin.

Talking about the products, the box came with seven products from six brands.
1. Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup, 30ml (Retail Price- S$25 for 30ml)- This Cream makeup from Revlon contains anti-ageing properties to fight the visible signs of ageing to get flawless and younger looking skin, which is also refreshed and hydrated. This also has SPF 20, so good for normal sun protection as well. The product is full size sample and what I loved at the first look was packaging. It looks as if the product is packaged in spiral pattern.

I received shade 25 Medium Beige, which matches my skin tone quite well. It also has some metallic particles which add shine to the skin, making it look even younger.

2. Dr.Ci:Labo Aqua-Collagen-Gel Enrich-Lift-Ex, 10g (Retail Price: S$71 for 50g)- This gel like product has added seaweed essence. It also contains Isoflavones, which has similar structure to skin cells and it activates cell structure deep within the skin.

3. Dr.Ci:Labo Aqua-Collagen-Gel Super Moisture EX, 10g (Retail Price: S$63 for 50g)- This gel leaves the skin hydrated and prevents wrinkles and freckles.

4. L&P Pumpkin Ade Mask, 1 pc (Retail Price: S$2 for 1 pc)- This mask is rich in Vitamin A, Minerals, Iron and lutein from pumpkin. It delays ageing and reduce wrinkles and makes skin elastic.

5. LA ROCHE-POSAY Toleriane Ultra Biocellulose Mask, 1 pc (Retail Price: S$57 for 4 pcs)- This mask helps to reduce skin sensitivity.

6. Footpure Foot Deodorant Powder, 10g (Retail Price: S$15 for 45ml)- The deodorant is composed of natural corn starch and can absorb foot sweat and moisture keeping the foot comfortable. It also keeps away the foot odour.

7. PDA Marry Me Perfume, 3ml (Retail Price: S$26 for 30ml)- This citrusy floral fragrance is romantic and sensual, and fragrance for dating and love. An interesting fragrance but a bit too sweet for my senses.

So, that was all about my Glamabox November 2013. Some products look impressive and promising specially the Revlon Make up and Foot Deodorant. Would love try them out and see the effect.

Looking forward to get more interesting products and if you would like to get your Glamabox, you may subscribe here for only S$18 a month.

[Review] Who's the best of them all??

Hey lovely ladies,
After receiving the first box from the three beauty subscription boxes- BellaBox (Read the review here), Vanity Trove (Read the review here) and Glamabox (Read the review here), I could not help but compare the products and value that you get out of them. Let me give a comparison for all three and will help you in a better selection if you wish to subscribe. Please take note that this post is not sponsored and the views are based on my opinion of one box from each service. Next time, it could get better or worse. So please use your discretion in making any decision.
Let's talk about the boxes now-

1. Subscription Cost and Reward Points
BellaBox- The subscription is priced at S$19.95/month with 19 reward points or at S$219.45 for 12 months, with 219 reward points and one month free. Reward points can be used to make purchase at bellabox shop and every 100 points is equivalent to S$10, which can be redeemed for shopping on their shop. Also you can earn points by writing product reviews, shopping on bellabox shop or by referring friends.
Vanity Trove- S$ 25/ month and no credits, S$75 for 3 months and 225 credits, S$150 for 6 months with 1050 credits and S$300 for a year with 4500 credits. Every 100 credits give you S$D1.00, which when accumulated to S$ 25.00, can be redeemed for a complimentary Trove.
Glamabox- S$18/ month with 10 Glama Points, S$108 for 6 months with 60 points and S$198 for a year and 110 points. Points can also be earned by referring friends and by shopping for full size products  and can be redeemed for shopping.
With this, I feel that Bellabox offers the best value for money in terms of the points.

2. Product Selection and Value of Samples-
Bellabox came with a good mix of products like makeup, skincare, fragrance etc. with some vouchers and the monetary value of products was around five times more that the subscription cost. Vanity Trove also came with a good selection of products covering even wider range with hair care, skincare, makeup and diet and the monetary value of products was around eight times the subscription cost.
Glamabox had all skin care products and a diet product and so I was not very happy with the variety and the monetary value of products was around six times the subscription cost. The problem here was some of the products were very close to their expiry date and by very close I mean expiring in July 2013.

3. Online Store to buy full size products
Bellabox has an online store to buy the products that you have already tried and you can redeem your reward points while shopping.
Vanity Trove does not have an online store.
Glamabox also has an online store and some products are available there and here also you can redeem your Glama Points.

The Verdict
After all the experience and observation, I would say Vanity Trove and Bellabox have a close competition. I liked Vanity Trove the best although it is most expensive as far as the subscription and rewards go but the products are good and of high value. Bellabox came next with a decent price and good selection of products and also the presence of online store and high value reward points. Glamabox did not come upto my expectations in terms of product variety and the expiry date factor really pissed me.
But you never know, I may be surprised next time.

Have you tried any of these boxes? How do you feel about them? Do leave a comment and share your experience.

[Review] Glamabox June 2013

Hi all the lovely ladies specially moms,
How have you been?
Just back from almost a month long vacation and saw a lot of surprises waiting for me on the table and one of them was another one of the beauty subscription boxes- Glamabox, where you get 4-5 beauty, make up and cult products as a sample or full size for a monthly fee and here that is S$18 a month.
So, with my fascination for these subscription boxes, I subscribed for glamabox as well and let's see what was inside...
Let me tell you, I really liked the floral doodle on the box cover...

There were seven products in the box (one is missing in the pic). The various brands included were- Niji's Diet, Bb Laboratories, proactiv, The Natural Miracle, SeVera, Yunifang, Dr. Cell. Except for procativ and The Natural Miracle, all were reatively new brands for me. The product details are given on a paper along with a note from the founder Lisa S. and the Glamabox Team. The products were-
1. Niji's Diet Slim Shake, 150g (Retail Price: S$30 for 6pcsX150g) is a meal replacement slimming product from Japan. This can be consumed with milk or yogurt and is easy to make. It sounds good but to try out atleast 5-6 packets are required for these kind of things to understand their effect. Also the instructions etc. were not given in English on the box. But seems like a must try for someone like me who needs to loose a fair amount of pounds. So will try and may be buy more if it tastes good :) Value of Sample- S$5. However, due to nearing expiry date, the product is available on glamashop for a low price of less than S$2.

2. Bb Laboratories Hyalurone Elastin Collagen Extract, 5ml (Retail Price: S$50 for 50ml) is again a product from Japan, which restores Moisture and Fullness to the skin. It prevents sagging of skin, wrinkles and dehydration. The packaging looks more like a medicinal product than a cosmetic so looks a bit repulsive but as they say don't judge the book by its cover, so I won't say anything till I try the product. Value of Sample- S$5.

3. Proactiv Renewing Cleanser, 120ml (Retail Price: S$50 for 120ml) is a full size sample, which quickly penetrates the skin and starts acting on acne causing bacteria.

It looks creamy but has a beady texture, which will gently exfoliate the dead cells and impurities.

The only problem with the product is that it is expiring in July 2013, which is here already. On trying the product, my skin felt a bit dry. Value of Sample- S$50.

4. The Natutal Miracle Snow Rose Whitening Steam Concentrate, 30ml (Retail Price: S$41 for 200ml) is a product for skin moisturizing and brightening with Rose extracts. It has a lovely Rose smell. It has a gelish texture and felt a bit sticky on application. Value of Sample- S$6.15.

5. Se Vera Essence Jelly, 15ml (Retail Price: S$25 for 100ml) is a highly concentratted essence with ingredients from Deep sea. It has a jelly like texture and can improve the skin texture and make it supple. Value of Sample- S$3.75.

6. Yunifang Rose Nourishment Mineral Sleeping Mask, 2pcsX 6g (Retail Price: S$24 for 180g) is a nourishing sleeping mask with no preservatives, colouring or artificial flavoring. This calls for a trial and will let you know how I feel after trying it. Value of Sample- S$1.60.

7. Dr. Cell All-in-one Gel, 50g (Retail Price: S$51 for 50g) Containing Coenzyme Q10 as an antioxidant, Dr Cell All in One Face Gel can prevent negative effects caused by free radicals.  Natural seaweed gel has a jelly-like texture, which gives the skin cool and comfortable feeling. Value of Sample- S$51.

So that was all about the June Glamabox and if you ask my opinion, I was not very impressed because-
1. The selection of products were not very interesting and lacked variety, outof seven, four products were for your skin moisurizing, brightening etc.
2. Some of the products had very early expiry date that is in July, not enough time to try and use the sample.

Looking forward to get more interesting products and if you would like to get your glamabox, you may subscribe here
