[Pastimes] Doodle Doodle... Doodle

As mentioned in my last post What I loved doing... and still love to do, one of my hobbies is doodling. Doodles are referred to those drawings, which are done unconsciously, mainly when the attention is occupied somewhere else. Most of my doodles started and ended in the same way but for some, they start as unconscious doodles but then I liked them so much and ended up spending sometime to specially complete them. Similar doodles were used to make bookmarks and cards as well. The only problem with all this was that not all were photographed. I am left with very few pictures to show, but nevermind... see what all I have and now I'll make sure to click pictures of whatever I do :)
The best way to doodle for me is to use mechanical pencil with B2 lead on any paper. I always carry a mechanical pencil with me for the same reason. Another medium I love to use is Uniball 0.27 tip pen on coloured paper. I mainly use this to make bookmarks; being an avid reader, I am in need of loads of them as sometimes I read 2-3 books at a time and moreover, cannot remember to take them out of my library books before returning them! I also tried to make bookmarks with bamboo leaves, using a Rotring pen for doodling.
Also, you'll see a lot of paisleys (mango design) and peacocks and a combination of both, needless to say that those are my favourite and always end up including atleast one of the them...

[Pastimes] What I loved doing... and still love to do!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you all are doing well!
I was just going through some old pictures, and then this idea struck me to introduce you all to my other hobbies, that is apart from blogging, making people look and feel great, looking after my home and son; I have a great interest in embroidery and doodling. Before I became a mother, I used to take out some time from my busy schedule of teaching Fashion Design, to do some embroidery and doodling on bookmarks etc.  Today, while searching for some picture, I started browsing through the folder in which I have pictures of all my art and embroidery work, I could feel the itch in my hands to hold the needle and thread again and creating some lovely stuff; and then I thought of restarting embroidery as soon as I get time after going back to Singapore. Just hope the itch continues after going back as well and I will share my creating with you. In the meanwhile, I thought why not share some of my older creations and may be with your encouragement, I can start again...
After looking at those pictures (because for most of the things, I am left only with pictures as the actual products are either kept in storage somewhere or have been gifted to someone), I could still feel the thought process that went into creating each piece and the execution and the joy of completing the work...
This picture is just to give a glimpse of my work, will talk about some of these and more creations later... Hope you like it, if you do, please leave a comment to show your appreciation and encouragement!

Will come back with more soon!
Till then, Take care

For the Wonderful Dads!

On the Occasion of Father's Day, I would like to wish all the Wonderful Dads out there a Happy Father's Day! Go have fun with your kids and show them how great you are. Give your kids the best gift of their lives by giving them your trust and by having faith in them. Remember, for every child, his/her daddy is the best! Always!

Saw something on the internet, worth sharing with you all....

What Is A Dad?

A dad is someone who

wants to catch you before you fall

but instead picks you up,

brushes you off,

and lets you try again.

A dad is someone who

wants to keep you from making mistakes

but instead lets you find your own way,

even though his heart breaks in silence

when you get hurt.

A dad is someone who

holds you when you cry,

scolds you when you break the rules,

shines with pride when you succeed,

and has faith in you even when you fail...

Also read somewhere that the best thing a Father can do for his Children is to Love their Mother... So, love each other and celebrate this Day!
