[Event] Vanity Trove X Decleor Exclusive Member's Event

Sometime ago, I was invited by Vanity Trove to this cozy Exclusive Member's Event in collaboration with DECLÉOR, a French brand that incorporates aromatherapy into beauty regime, at SEVIIN, TANGS.

The event was to mark the launch the new range of Prolagene Lift from DECLÉOR and also the new phase of Vanity Trove (Click here to read more about Vanity Trove). The event was organised at the Loft, SEVIIN, TANGS with some yummy treats...

After getting to know about DECLÉOR's new range of anti-ageing products (Read more on Anti-Ageing here) with products like essence, day and night cream, eye cream, wrinkle fill etc. we got to know about some facial exercises to keep the skin healthy and firm. That was something interesting to know...

That was followed by introducing the new phase of Vanity Trove- creating a platform to share our beauty tips and tricks with others. The Vanity Trove website is now like a facebook for beauty or rather a BeautyBook for face, where you can follow people or brands or products, interact with them, like posts, add pictures, product review and a lot more. Follow me on Vanity Trove platform to get started on this beauty adventure. Apart from all this, you can update your beauty profile to get sample recommendation based on the same which you can add to your customised trove and receive it every time for S$25. The best part of all this is, if you are a Vanity Trove subscriber, they make all the efforts to vanish your Monday Morning Blues by sending a mail in your inbox informing about the new sample that are added every Monday, so you can add them to your customised Trove.

After all this, not to forget the lovely door gift that all of us received...

It was great to receive samples of Aromessence IRIS Rejuvenating Serum, Intensive Youth Concentrate, Rejuvenating Night Balm and Lift & Firm Day Cream. Also, voucher for Decleor Treatments at SEVIIN, TANGS. Will write about these samples and sessions soon.

Till then, keep reading and discovering!

P.S.- A big thanks to the Vanity Trove Team Ms. Zhi Jun Phoon, Ms. Hui Shan Pang and Mr. Douglas Tan for a great evening and also for S$25 Vanity Trove Credits.

New Section- Coffee with Friends

Hi Everyone,
It is been a while that I discussed with my friends about starting this section and finally I got the time to write about it. Basically, this section is dedicated to all my friends (be my friend... if you are not yet, I love having new friends)! We all meet once a week at each others' place for playdate and coffee and often make so many yummy snacks and then end up giving our recipes to each other. Apart from that we discuss about various parenting concerns since all our kids are in the same age range (just few months apart... ranging over a year), so I thought of starting this section, where all my friends can be the guest blogger and share their recipes, their parenting concerns and wisdom, style tips, creative endeavors or about anything they feel like.
The posts in this section will be published once a week (most probably Friday)
The posts will be shared with a brief description about the author, a pic (if you want), link to their website or blog etc.
If you are sharing a recipe, please make sure you have a pic as well as food is more of a visual delight than anything else.
I am sorry but I won't be able to publish recipes that contain beef or pork in any form, if you have an alternative to these meats, please do mention.
Anyone, who wants to be a part of this group can mail me at nsur20@gmail.com

Signing off in a hope to make this a success!!

[Recipe] Open Sandwich with Mustard Seeds and Curry Leaves' Flavour

Hi Everyone,
Let me share another recipe with you all- this one I picked up from my mum and don't remember from where she got this but believe me it turns out to be yummm.
This is an Open Sandwich with a mild flavour obtained from Mustard seeds and Curry Leaves, two common ingredients used extensively in South Indian Cooking.

Serves- 2 (2 Slices each)

Ingredients
2 Bread Slices
1 Medium Sized Potato
1/2 Cup Finely Chopped Onion
1/2 Cup Tomatoes (deseeded and chopped)
1 Tbsp. Grated Ginger
2 Tbsp. Chopped Curry Leaves
1 Tsp. Salt
1 Tsp. Black Pepper (or to taste)
1 Tbsp. Mustard Seeds

Method
1. Boil, peel and Mash potato.
2. Add chopped onion, tomato, ginger and curry leaves and mix well. Add salt and pepper.
3. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
4. Remove the crusts from the bread slices, apply a layer of potato mixture on one side of bread and sprinkle some mustard seeds on top.
5. Bake at 180 degrees for 12 minutes.
6. Take the slices out from the oven and cut into two.
Serve as is or with Mint and coriander dip (For recipe, read here)

For Kids, you may avoid mustard seeds and adjust salt and pepper.

Do try out the recipe and let me know how it turns out!

[Review] Fragrance- Miss Dior Cherie EDP

Hi Lovelies,
Here I come with another perfume review... actually while clearing my dresser, I caught hold of a lot of perfume sample and old perfume bottles with some content still left in them... so here I go on a Fragrance Review frenzy.

So, here I go with my latest find (out of my Treasure Box)- Miss Dior Cherie EDP by Dior

The New version of Miss Dior Cherie was launched in 2011 and I can't seem to remember how I got hold of this sample vial but I do remember how excited I was to find it in my stash. The bottle design is elegant and feminine. The new version is being created by Francois Demachy who combines essences to contribute to more sophisticated presentation of Dior's Cherie. The fragrance is defined as Fruity Floral Elegance.

My Take on Miss Dior Cherie
Somehow all my favorite fragrances for past years are dominated with floral or fruity notes and ending with musky and woody notes and this was no exception. The fragrance opens up with heavy notes of mandarin orange, soon giving way to floral Jasmine notes, which is too sweet and lingers on for a while longer than I would usually like but as it give way to the base notes- I could smell patchouli with a hint of sandalwood, which seems to last forever. Really enjoy this transition every time, I wear this fragrance. It is not very long lasting considering it is an EDP, around 5-6 hours. I would say it is fruity and floral yet not overpowering. It is truly an elegant, feminine and sophisticated fragrance.

Retail Price- S$140 for 30ml, S$150 for 50ml and S$210 for 100ml.
Available online at http://www.perfumestore.sg.

Have you tried Miss Dior Cherie EDP? How do you like it? Or if you have not tried it yet, would you like to try? What makes you want to try it? Do leave a comment and share your views and experience with us.

Till then keep reading and discovering
